About Britten

Jaymi Britten (1985-) is a young and upcoming photographer from Hawaii.  She began practicing portraiture at the age of 18. Although her work has never been exhibited in galleries, she has been able to reach a broad audience through art communities via the internet (deviantart.com, depthcore.com, and behance.net).  On her own time, Britten studies both film and digital photography, while majoring in Web & Interactive Media Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Online Division).  In 2008, she will be a California based photographer practicing creative portraiture as well as concert and fashion photography.  She seeks to capture the beauty and nature of her subjects.  Most of her photoshoots are on location and considered ‘spontaneous’; she categorizes herself as an ‘emotive photographer’ with reference to her personal work at deviantART (http://breathenaked.deviantart.com).  When time permits, she will be working with her twin sister, Jena Sommer, to begin a reflective project that still remains untitled.  With an endless list of influences and music as her prime source of inspiration, Britten continues to create work that portrays her fashion and taste in art and photography.

SIGHT+SOUL is a creative team of designers, photographers, models, makeup artists, and hair stylists. Brooklyn Shell and Jaymi Britten started SIGHT+SOUL Creative in 2007 with the hope of bringing fresh, Hawaii inspired art to an up and coming generation of art lovers. Brooklyn and Britten were both trained in fine art but began experimenting in other media as a hobby. They find passion in art forms and the freedom to portray the world and its people in an articulate yet graceful way. (Brooklyn & Britten, 2007)”
